Website Return Policy

*This does not apply to purchases made in our Virginia Beach store. All items purchased in our store are not returnable.

Onlineformals.com offers two options when returning items purchased through our website only.

You can choose between the following options:

1. Full Store Credit - No expiration date

2. Refund - Less a 15% restocking fee of the dress purchase price + an additional $20 if you selected the Free Shipping option.

*Note - the maximum refund amount is capped at $800.00. Purchases valued more than $800.00 will have the difference issued in the form of a store credit.

 The following items are NOT returnable:

-Sale Dresses
-Shoes and Jewelry
-Undergarments

The following conditions must be met to process your return request:

You must e-mail us at [email protected] within 3 days of receiving your item(s) to request a Return Authorization number. RA Requests aren't processed over the phone.  If you do not request your RA within the 3 day time frame, an RA will not be issued. There are no exceptions. Please indicate whether you would like a store credit or refund when requesting your RA. Your request will be reviewed and if it meets the RA Request requirements you will be issued a RA number.

The merchandise must be received back to our store within 5 days of receiving your RA number. Please include an RA number inside the box for reference.  Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.

Returns are only accepted via UPS or Fed Ex. The Postal Service doesn't have access to our building in the event we are closed and will not redeliver.


Any items returned after the five days following an RA being issued or without an RA will not be accepted.

The merchandise must be sent back in the original packaging with ALL tags & hangers enclosed. Upon receipt we will carefully inspect the merchandise for signs of wear to include: tears, dog & cat hair, snags, stains and odors. If the merchandise is damaged in ANY way, we will not be able to provide a store credit or refund and you will be responsible for any return shipping costs. We ask that you zip the dress up, place on the hanger and carefully package the dress when returning.

International customers using a store credit must select a paid shipping method or the order will be canceled.

We strongly suggest that you ship your parcel fully insured, as we are not responsible for any loss or damage of your returned shipment.

If you opt to receive a store credit, we will provide your store credit code via e-mail within 48 hours of receiving your return.  Store credit will be issued to the e-mail address provided in the order within your store account. This credit will appear as a payment option when you are ready to check out with your new dress selection.  

Items purchased using a store credit are NOT RETURNABLE, meaning that once you receive your replacement item(s), it cannot be returned.

Cancellation Policy

Orders are processed the same business day, therefore once you place an order it cannot be canceled.  Please note - that this is whether your order has been shipped or not.

Should you change your mind prior to shipment -  you will be eligible for a store credit or refund in accordance with the policies outlined above.
